สวัสดีครับน้อง ๆ ผู้มีใจเลิฟภาษาอังกฤษทุกคนเลย วันนี้ Mr.SK@Inter ขอนำน้อง ๆ หรือผู้อ่านทุกคน มาลองฝึกการอ่านภาษาอังกฤษด้วยกัน เรื่องนี้ก็เป็น issue หรือ เรื่องราวรายเดือน เกี่ยวกับแวดวงการเรียนของแดนนกกีวี(รวมทั้ง kiwi fruit ที่น่ากินด้วย) ประเทศนิวซีแลนด์ครับ ประเทศนี้ถือว่า สุดยอดครับในเรื่องความสวยงามที่สุดของโลก อีกทั้งยังสงบ ไม่วุ่นวาย น่าเรียนที่ซู้ด อันนี้ไปพิสูจน์มาแล้วนะจ๊ะ ไม่ได้โม้…ส่วนใครจะไปเรียนหรือไม่ไป ไม่ใช่ Point สำคัญอะไร เรามาอ่านข่าว เพื่อพัฒนา หรือทบทวนภาษาหรือ Vocabulary ต่าง ๆ กันดีกว่า ก็มีศัพท์เกี่ยวกับเรื่องการเรียนต่าง ๆ เยอะเหมือนกันนะ

Kiwiana - Celebrating Our National Identity

Gumboots, 'Buzzy Bee' toys, marching girls, a meringue dessert,
shell ashtrays, and a cookbook may not seem terribly important
objects. But to many Kiwis (New Zealanders), such things assume
vital importance as major icons of Kiwiana! What is Kiwiana? It

Wellington Cuisine Capital

Wellington has a reputation for great cuisine. It is no great
surprise that Wellington's Matterhorn Restaurant and Bar was
recently announced as the Winner of the Supreme Award at the
Cuisine NZ Restaurant of the Year 2008 Awards. It is the second
year in a row that the award has been won by a Wellington
restaurant. The Matterhorn also won Best Casual Dining -
Metropolitan and the 2008 NZ Bar of the Year Award - for the

Hutt Valley Olympic Pride

Hutt City Mayor David Ogden says Nick Willis has done the Hutt
Valley and New Zealand proud with his stunning run to win the
Olympic bronze medal in the men's 1500m final at Beijing.
“Nick is 100% Hutt Valley and proud of it, and we couldn't
be more proud of him and what he has achieved. His mighty
performance is something that should inspire all of us. He has
shown that with hard work, determination and sacrifice anything

Open Days

Wellington's universities opened their doors to thousands of
secondary school students from across the country o­n Friday 22nd
August. "The 'Study at Vic' day is a great opportunity for
prospective students sample life at our capital city university",
said Susan Harper, manager of Student Recruitment and Course
Advice at Victoria University. Massey University student liaison
adviser Marjon Williams said the Massey Open Day was an
important tool in decision making for students. "Visitors had the
opportunity to talk to staff and current students, look around
the facilities o­n offer and attend information sessions o­n
first-year study options".

The Big Sing

It wasn't just the universities that were attracting secondary
school students to Wellington last week. Each year, the New
Zealand Choral Federation runs a choral competition for New
Zealand's secondary schools - known as THE BIG SING. This year
around 240 choirs with 7,000 singers entered throughout the
country, in what is probably the biggest competitive event of any
kind (sports included). All the choirs participate in regional
competitions in June, and this year Wellington hosted the
National Finale. 19 schools from across the country were
represented.

Back to school for senior lecturers.

Sixteen senior lecturers from Indonesia's Brawijiya University
have gone back to class at Massey University's Wellington campus.
Dr Djamhur Hamid, the group's leader, says Massey Wellington is a
small but beautiful campus. The lecturers are attending three
months of training at the University's Wellington-based Centre
for University Preparation and English Language Studies
(CUPELS).The lecturers all have PhDs and work in a wide range of
fields including economics, law, management, and agriculture.

Innovation Award for Victoria University

The last thing you may expect to find o­n the crowded streets of
Ho Chi Minh City is a campus of Wellington's Victoria University
- but that's exactly where the institution has decided to open
their first offshore location. The new campus offers students
opportunities to study English and Business and after two years
at the Vietnam campus students can complete their degrees in New
Zealand. This initiative won Victoria University a share of this
year's “Innovation in an International Programme" award at
the annual Education New Zealand conference.

Virtual Trade Training

True to it's reputation for being a leading trade training
organisation, Wellington Institute of Technology (Weltec) is
taking trades into the 21st century with a new range of high-tech
simulation equipment. Earlier this year WelTec introduced a
highly sophisticated Autotronics Lab, with simulated automotive
diagnostic capabilities. More recently, WelTec purchased a
Virtual Spray Painting Simulator. With game-like appeal, the
Virtual Spray Simulator features a spray painting gun with high
pressure/low volume options, laptop with virtual software, a
projector and screen. “They have taken all of the
components from a spray gun and electrically wired it" says

Night Market in Wellington

Thousands of Wellingtonians crammed in for the city's first
South East Asian Night Market. The event was organised by the
Association of Southeast Asia Nations (ASEAN) with the support of
the Asia New Zealand Foundation and the Wellington City Council.
The day included traditional cultural performances and food
stalls from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore,
Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Myanmar. Read more here
